I am looking for help to raise money for an organized fundraising challenge to walk the Great Wall of China October 2010 in aid of St Barnabas Hospice in Worthing
I would be most grateful for a donation, which goes towards paying for a patient's bedroom at the new St Barnabas Hospice in Worthing West Sussex.
The walk involves a 5-day trek of approx 8 hours a day with a gruelling climb up 1000 steps to the top of a mountain.

Forty years ago, our founder and local GP, Dr Francis Gusterson, launched the appeal to create the original St Barnabas House. Since opening in 1972, we have provided hospice care for over 25,000 local people and countless family members. Our current building was originally designed to last for 25 years. It is now 37 years old and starting to wear out. The hospice needs more and more work done to it each year, but there is only so much patching up that can be done. So, the race is now on to create the new St Barnabas House - a brand new, purpose-built facility that will provide the very best hospice care for local people through the 21st century and beyond.
T he new St Barnabas House will open in 2011. But there's a lot of work to be done first. With all the costs of construction and equipment involved, a project of this magnitude comes with a huge price tag - £13.5 million to be precise.
We are aiming to raise enough sponsorship money to enable us to pay for a patient's bedroom at the new hospice - a total of £48,300. Each bedroom will have full en-suite facilities, private telephone and internet access, providing our patients with more independence. New, state-of-the-art tracking and hoists will allow patients to access these facilities with far greater ease and comfort. With more single-bedded rooms, our patients will be able to enjoy an intimate, home-from-home environment, offering more privacy and dignity than ever before.
